AMP’s shuttle program changed that, picking him up daily for job interviews and early morning shifts until he could save for his own car. “They carried me until I could carry myself,” Xavier said. Today, he drives himself to work, supports his family, and volunteers at AMP events. His journey shows how something as simple as a ride can change a life.

Tanya worried no one would hire her after release. She’d faced rejection after rejection until AMP connected her with resume coaching, interview practice, and employer partners willing to give second chances. Within two months, Tanya secured steady work at a local warehouse. For her, the paycheck meant survival—but the opportunity meant dignity. “This job is proof I get a second chance,” she said. Today, Tanya is saving for her own apartment and mentoring others in reentry.

Luis spent years away from his family, missing milestones and memories he could never get back. When he came home, AMP made sure he had stable housing and reliable transportation to both his job and his daughter’s school. Luis now works full-time and has rebuilt trust at home. His proudest moment wasn’t clocking in—it was sitting in the audience at his daughter’s school play. “I finally get to show up,” he said.

By his late twenties, Damarius had been in and out of prison multiple times. Each release felt like a revolving door until AMP stepped in with transitional housing, case management, and access to mental health support. For the first time, Damarius had stability and accountability. A year later, he’s still employed, still at home, and still moving forward. “This is the first time I believe the cycle is broken,” he shared. AMP helped him see that change is possible—and permanent.
